The via Francigena (Pilgrimage)

Fucecchio is located on the right bank of the river Arno. The city with its ancient origin gives the nature reserve (Padule) it’s name. It¬† is protected by the waters of the country through its bridge over the Arno, Ponte a Cappiano., Where the pilgrims will cross on the Via Francigena the river, and could make a stop. Because of this resource Fucecchio played an important role in the medieval way.
The Via Francigena is still accessible and has a great charm.You can still partecipate to the Fucecchio walks and pilgrimages  with beautiful impressions, with the possibility to admire the typical flora and fauna of the swamp.
